Gebrakan demi gebrakan diciptakan Samsung guna merebut simpati konsumen dengan smartphone buatannya. Setelah merilis Galaxy Ace 2, kali ini Samsung membuat inovasi baru yakni sebuah ponsel dengan fitur proyektor di dalamnya yang selanjutnya disebut sebagai Samsung Galaxy Beam.







Beberapa saat sebelum MWC 2012 dimulai, Samsung mengumumkan produk ponsel Android terbarunya. Produk pertama yang diumumkan adalah Galaxy Beam, kombinasi smartphone dan proyektor dengan prosesor dual-core.



Proyektor yang dipasang di Galaxy Beam memiliki kekuatan 15 lumens. Dengan proyektor ini ini maka akan bisa ditampilkan gambar sebesar 50 inci dengan definisi tinggi. Resolusi yang dipancarkan Galaxy Beam adalah nHD (640 x 360) piksel. Menurut Samsung, Galaxy Beam merupakan ponsel proyektor tertipis di dunia yaitu dengan ketebalan hanya 12,5 milimeter.







Dari segi smartphone, Galaxy Beam memakai layar 4 inci WVGA (800 x 480 piksel) denga prosesor dual-core 1GHz. Selain itu juga terpasang kamera 5MP di bagian belakang dengan kemampuan merekam video 720p ditambah kamera depan 1.3MP. Terpasang memori internal 8GB dengan slot ekspansi kartu microSD, ditambah baterai 2000 mAh. Untuk beroperasi, Samsung memasang Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
